MEET KYLE MCKENZIE
Kyle was introduced to pickleball by his former high school tennis coach, who told him to forget tennis and try something new. That one invitation turned into a lifelong passion. Since then, Kyle has notched wins over some of the sport’s best—including Riley Newman, Jay Devilliers, and James Ignatowich—and holds DUPR ratings of 6.150 (doubles) and 6.385 (singles).
Kyle met Tyson in 2016 after moving to Spokane, and the two quickly began training together. From instructional videos to serving as Tyson’s personal coach in 2024, Kyle has been an integral part of Tyson’s journey—and vice versa.
As a coach, Kyle is analytical and thorough, helping players not just improve, but truly understand their own strengths and style. Above all, he values the people he meets while traveling the country with Tyson McGuffin Camps.

MEET matthew marceau
Matthew picked up a paddle for the first time back in 2019—thanks to Tyson himself—and he hasn’t looked back since. With a DUPR of 5.7 and multiple main draws on the PPA Tour, Matthew brings both high-level play and high energy to every session.
As a former college tennis teammate and longtime friend of Tyson’s (going on 20 years strong!), Matthew’s connection to the McGuffin crew runs deep. His favorite part of coaching at Tyson McGuffin Camps? Meeting players from all walks of life and sharing the court with them.

MEET RILEY CHEN
Riley found pickleball during the COVID-19 lockdowns, when his family started heading outside just to stay sane and stay together. What began as a reason to get some fresh air quickly turned into a full obsession. He connected with Kyle McKenzie, who helped sharpen his skills and opened the door to pickleball at the highest level, eventually leading Riley to train in Spokane with Ethan Violette and get on the court with Tyson himself. He's since competed on an official UPL team alongside some of his closest friends, and counts tournament wins with his dad and brother among his most meaningful moments in the sport.
On the court, Riley coaches with high energy and a results-first mindset, keeping sessions fun and competitive while staying locked in on real improvement.
